What is a curator?
Curators are advanced users with extensive expertise on research data in a particular category. They function as “editors” of Discuss Data. They organise the discussion process for published data collections, manage the community’s communication (answer questions and requests, connect people with the resources they need, ensure that the rules of Discuss Data laid down in the Discuss Data Policy are respected, pursue community outreach (acquire new users, discussants or curators), and above all ensure the quality of the submitted datasets through their review. A curator has the ability to change data collection access/download restrictions if violations of copyrights or privacy have been reported. Thus, curators can modify the access restrictions and publish or deaccession any user uploads at any time.
