Description
This data collection includes representative surveys conducted by KIIS among residents of the Southern and Eastern regions of Ukraine (Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa oblasts) regarding their preferred option for relations with Russia in two distinct time periods: firstly, in April 2014, following the annexation of Crimea and the initiation of pro-Russian forces seizing administrative buildings in Eastern Ukraine, proclaiming "People's Republics"; and secondly, in 2021-early 2022, preceding the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine (data for Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts for 2021-2022 cover government-controlled areas only).
These two sets of data for two distinct periods aim to show people's views at a certain point in time. Due to the differing research methodologies employed, these data are not intended to track or interpret changes over time.
This data collection contains the original raw data as SAV files (Russian and English for 2014, and Ukrainian and English for 2021-2022) and converted CSV files with codebooks (Russian and English for 2014, and Ukrainian and English for 2021-2022).
