Description

Data retrieved semi-automatically from ILO Legal Series indices.
It contains entries about labor legislations issued by the countries of the world.
Data is provided as *.xlsx and *.csv documents and contains specific informataion about:
Country, sub-national units, date, index text (text reference to the legislation as in ILo LS), and supplementary information on data collection and cleaning.

Some documents of the ILO LS indexes are **not covered** yet and thus create a data gap.
Known data gaps are indices from the following ILO LS documents/years: 1920, 1921, 1922, 1937, 1957 (2), 1958, 1963, 1970, 1971 (French), 1972, 1973, 1975 (Spanish), 1975, 1987, 1988 (Spanish). Missing indices will be added soon (and/or by request).

The data set lists 197 entries, for the GDR.

The data uploaded to this Discuss Data publication focuses explicitly on the German Democratic Republic. The geographic selection allows for a detailed historical overview about labor-related laws of the German Democratic Republic from 1953 to 1986.
